Open Date (Open Date Equipment) designs and manufactures coding, marking and overprinting equipment for packaging materials, including self-adhesive labels, cartons, cards and blister packs. Drawing on more than 50 years of experience in hot-foil and thermal-transfer overprinting technology, the company supplies equipment, software and consumables for applying dates, batch codes and traceability data, backed by local after-sales support and service contracts.
In 2026, we are proud to announce or new partnership with Cyklop Coding, to distribute their range of continuous, thermal ink, and laser coders. A significant development allowing Open Date to present a full range of coding solutions, laser, ink, thermal transfer and our established high speed hot foil coders.

Thermal Transfer Overprinter
View productPrinting Data Matrix, barcodes test QR codes on flexible packaging using thermal transfer technology, designed in house and manufactured in the United Kingdom, for over 50 years. High speed and high resolution. Continuous and intermittent coding. With three widths, 32mm, 53mm and 107mm, capable of printing length, 30-160mm. Added recently a option for a new printhead, developed in a project with ROHM Semiconductors, increasing the competency of coding when faced with demanding substrates, high-gloss or recycled materials.
Cyklop Ink and Laser Coders
Coding for a wide variety of packaged products, using ink solutions, continuous and thermal ink, and three laser coders CO2/Fibre and UV. Distributed in the UK by Open Date this year.
Hot Foil Production Coding
